Law & Order & Motherhood

What is TIME?!

Has it really been almost a year since my last news update?! Time has been moving simultaneously fast and slow since then: I had a delightful time performing in “The Comeuppance” at Human Race Theatre Company while at the end of my second trimester, finished growing a human, and now somehow have a 7 month old son. And yet, each day I get to be at home with him moves at a lovely, slow pace, in a way that lets me savor each moment – or feel like a challenging moment will never end (hello sleep regressions). After my son was born, I took several months of self-imposed maternity leave (thanks freelancer life) and started pursuing work again at the beginning of 2026. And now it’s April?! I’ll spare y’all the rest of my existential, anxiety-fueled spiral, and instead share some exciting career happenings because yes, I AM still an actor and I WILL figure out how to balance work and new mom life, dagnabbit! Scroll down for details about how you can:

1) Catch me on Law & Order tomorrow night
2) Check out my latest Audiobook release: A Killer in the Family
3) Learn about TEMPUS, a new musical I’ve been helping develop

Catch me on Law & Order!

Tune in to NBC TOMORROW (April 2) at 8pm ET and you might see a familiar face on that ol’ NYC staple, Law and Order! I had the pleasure of shooting this episode shortly after emerging from maternity leave, and I’m amazed it’s airing so soon (again…what is time?). The cast and crew were so welcoming, and I greatly appreciate how supportive and accommodating they were with my lactation needs. Fun fact: it will be my first time playing a doctor on TV!

Check out my latest Audiobook!

When my son was 3 months old and I was technically still on maternity leave, I snuck into my home booth while he was sleeping (an hour here, an hour there) to record Amin Ahmad’s page-turner A Killer in the Family. What a joy to be part of this multicast thriller (shout out to Vikas Adam and Isuri Wijesundara!) and bring the mysterious, rebellious, potentially dangerous Farhan Khan to life. I hope you enjoy this dark family drama!

A Killer in the Family comes out April 7, but you can pre-order it now on Audible or wherever you listen to audiobooks!(And visit the Narration page to learn about other Audiobooks I’ve had the pleasure of narrating.)

Learn about a new Musical!

In 2021, I was invited to do a one day reading of a new musical called TEMPUS being developed by Spiral Staircase Productions with Jaclyn Backhaus writing the book and Jonatha Brooke writing the music and lyrics. Since then, it’s been such a privilege to continue contributing to the piece’s evolution, most recently during a 2-week development workshop in March. It was incredible to see how far the story has come, to be part of its growth, and to feel the music come alive with a band backing us. Above all, it was the first time since my son was born that I got to dive back into theatre full time (even though it was temporary). I felt like my old self again – I’d missed that feeling!
